Most memberships are a discount mechanism. Accel Elite is closer to a private house with a standing invitation: a lounge you can arrive at without a plan, first call on the Collection, and a calendar of gatherings that are actually worth attending.
The Collection is the residences. Elite is privileged access to the lifestyle around them — the two are designed to complement each other.
Membership is kept deliberately small. A room only works at a certain size, and the value of the room is the reason people stay.
